Remember - after your first class, if you feel that the level is not right for you, you can always change (if there's room and you're REALLY nice to Donna!). And the classes are always what you make of them - the instructors always have something ...

Sounds like fun. I just joined the Mandolin Orchestra of Niagara three weeks ago. This would be another great opportunity to practise playing in a group. I'll bring my music stand and watch for your notice. Marvyn

Amy- I'm writing parts for all levels of players, from beginning to 'advanced'...since you already play in a group, you should have no problem with any of the parts! As soon as I get to Kamp and know where I will be staying, I'll post flyers so p...

Intermediate. Let's just say I'm optimistic that I can sort of get up to speed enough to justify that selection by the time Kamp rolls around. I've been playing quite a bit, but that doesn't mean I know what the hell I'm doing.

Hi Kristin
Sorryy if I didn't get back to you on this one. Didn't see it.
We stopped having the orchestras because there ended up being so many things to do during the orchestra practice periods that the students couldn't make consistantly and the instructors got frustrated. At least there were many scheduled activities during the 4:15-5pm blocks that a lot of kampers didn't miss it. We might bring it back if an istructor or student (like you) volunteer to take it on.
See you in June young lady

Hey, I'm doing mando this year, too. I'm trying to play it about an hour each day so I don't completely humiliate myself. Oh wait, that's right, I have no shame.

Looking forward to seeing you in June.

Profile Information

Have you attended Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamp in the past? If so what years?
2005, 2006, 2008
What instruments do you play?
Violin, Mandolin, Guitar, Bass...and do these count(?)...viola, cello, clarinet, saxophone, piano, euphonium. Starting a little banjo, we'll see where I go with it (insert joke here).
What are some of your fondest memories of Kamp?
So many, can't think of just one. I'm sure it will involve adult beverages, music, and some pretty bad playing (on my part).

Roscoe Morgan's encore in '05 of Don't Stop Believin'...I was cracking up after I heard the first few chords...I think the people around me thought I was rude. Come on...who doesn't know Journey???

There is that 'one special song' that I only get to hear one week a year (about 5 times a day).
Who would you like to see teaching at Kamp?
Hmmmm....
