Hey, Dale, I just snagged your cutaway GA70 on ebay! I also ran across your post on another archived bbd from '07, when you first were writing about ordering the guitar, and then you added more once you got it. I LOVE this guitar. I haven't touched a pick in twenty-some years, and this guitar is perfect for me! I've had custom and vintage flat tops and electrics over the last 40 years, and I've never heard anything like this! I prefer smaller-bodied spruce and mahogany guitars, with ebony fretboards, and I have a bunch of different variations, but I just loooooooooove the sound of this Gallagher. I string everything with Ellixir Nano 80/20 lights, and they sound good on this guitar. It'll sound round, or trebly, depending on attack. It's funny, too - I found an email I wrote to Don Gallagher in January '07, asking whether he'd be up for building a short-scale cutaway Ragtime Special, and he said sure, but I got sidetracked and never went through with it. And now YOURS shows up! Sorry it didn't work out for you, but it's exactly the right tool at the right time for me. Thanks, Dale!

I will try for sure Dale. It's killin me that I can't get up all week. 2 of my brother's are in town that week I'm going to try to drag them along.

I'll be sure to get in touch so I know where to find people.

Hi Dale,

I really want to to 09 Kamp but the economy is probably not going to let me. Breaks my heart because that was one of the best weeks I've ever had.
I sold my banjo before I ever got to go to kamp with it. fortunately my guitar isn't worth much so I'm flatpicking more now. I'm thinking of heading up for one of the evening concerts. I'm only about 2 hours away so we'll see.

I have plans of being there. I'm taking the Dobro class, but I'll make all the jams I can.

Hi Dale,

Hey, tell us more about that beautiful tune posted here, "Missing You". It's really beautiful. I'm sitting here on this Sunday morning watching the snow flurries dusting the Sierra, and feeling a bit blue, myself, recalling the fun summer times at Kamp and mourning the passing of John Studdard. Life is so precious.

Howdy Dale,

I am not sure about which week for Kamp this summer. It will probably be week 1. I have not been able to hook up with Don yet, although we have tried. I had to bail at the last moment unfortunately. I have not hooked up with Andy either - doesn't he live out east?

I have signed up for a workshop with Steve at the Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy Ohio in mid March. It should be an unbelievable weekend - kind of pricey, but it is my Christmas present from my loving wife. I've got to get Calgary Polka under my belt by then. I have a pretty good start so far.

Take Care, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hey Dale!

If I get there in 09 it will be week 1 most likely. I'm thinking of doing the vocal/songwriting or perhaps banjo this time. I'll drop a line if I'm heading up. That week in 07 was one the best times I've had so I really do want to get back.
