I had a great time at the gallagher Guitars Wartrace music Festival last weekend.
There was a great crowd and some super talent. Highlights were seeing Don, Hazel Jean, Stephen and Mr Earl along with jamming with Richard Starkey and Jim Woods.
Hopefully my schedule will allow for me to be there next year.
See you at Kamp real soon.

Hey Jim,

I could swing by there if I weren't carpooling to get to Kamp this year. (I was very close to visiting you when I drove down to buy my first Gallagher from that machinist down there a few years back.)

I don't know what your asking for that Ragtime, (and it's probably a new one too). I'd love to see and play it and...who knows? But it may be that I need to a find a used instrument to get the price down into my budget. (My "budget" really being zilch but I have a fetish for Gallagher guitars and still want a non-dread model that has a bigger and deeper sound than the short scale GA70 I had.)

But then, if you're coming week 2 I probably won't see you unless you plan to arrive a bit early? I had planned to maybe stay an extra day to hang and pick a bit with my good friend Andy Childs. But carpooling's down side is that you have to fit plans in with the group. (carpooling's upside is that the long drive will be very fun, with hightened anticipation, chatting down the highway with 2 other Kampers!)

Sounds like a great guitar Jim. I'd love to give it a ride.

Hey Dale, I have a great big sounding Ragtime Special with cutaway, burst top and standard Gallagher 25 1/4" scale hanging here on the wall. I could probably bring it when I come, as I was planning to bring one of the "Ole Hoss" reproductions if I can fit it in with all the shop stuff, but that will be week 2.

Another thought is to detour through Sparta either going or coming from Kamp!

Still might be shopping for a Gallagher GA70 or Ragtime Special, preferring a cutaway and slotted headstock but needing big sound. I had one but the short scale one I had didn't fit my style. (It was really gorgeous and very sweet ringing trebles but didn't growl for me)
Anyway, maybe someone will read this and bring one to Kamp week1. Just window shopping now but I might be tempted by the right instrument/price! (Shhh don't tell my wife I wrote this!)

Hey mister Stephen Gallagher...haven't heard from you in awhile but if you make Kamp week1 I hope you're bringing a gaggle of fer sale Gallaghers with you for folks to drool over?

Hey Steve,

Your a busy man...but I'd still love to see pix of your Gallaghers when you get a chance. I've played your Doc cutaway at Kamp. It's might fine. I'd love to see the others. My 71 Special pictured in the thread of discussion is getting lots of play time and coming out nicely. Ought to be even better by June 15.
I'd love you to try it out sometime during Kamp week1 and see how you like it.

I'll try to make to the Gallagher Jam if possible.

I own two Gallaghers. New G-55 and a old G-65. I'm actually liking my new guitar better than my old one. It's really been opening up of the past couple of months. I think sometimes people assume that i would get any Gallagher i want, but i don't i had to work hard to get the G-55 and it's very special to me!

Donnie (the machinist) mentioned that guitar the other day when he was up here putting Ole Hoss #3 throught it's paces. I remember Mr. Wellel's guitar well! Donnie had it and another 12 fretter that I had built with a red spruce top, which he still plays. I thought both were great sounding instruments. Welcome to the group, Steve!

Hey Jim,
You may have noticed Steve Wessels joined this group. I sold him the first Gallagher I ever owned at Kamp 07. I had bought it from a machinist not too far down the road from your shop a couple years before. He had purchased it from your shop too. (He kept the other one he had that was a 12 fret Doc I believe). I can't recall his name now. It was a real nice instrument though. Now I have the cutaway Doc model.

Dale:)
