I thought about finger style jams. For fingerstyle, some rounds would be fun. If you know of some bring them along. See you Sunday,

Fingerpicking beginner. Starting out with Travis Picking. I know a couple of patterns and some chords. Looking forward to learning by listening to better players. That should be all of you folks.

Anyone trying any Thumb/Index finger "pinch picking" ala Wayne Henderson? I'm trying it out on a few tunes and for some fills and breaks in some fingerstyle tunes. Just testing it out with Billy in the Lowground, Old Joe Clark and Salt Creek right now.

It ain't flatpcikin, but it is fun, and danged if it don't work for fiddle tunes and fills.

Hey George we look like twins!
How about those Carnegie Hall Boys from 2004.

even the greats rehearse to make sure good stuff happens!
Dale Grider Comment by Dale Grider on December 17, 2008 at 4:51pm
That could be cool as long as we don't get a mix of Mason Williams and Tommy Emanuel arrangements trying to happen at the same time

Unfortunately I won't be there until week 2, but I suggest all who are interested get together for a grand mass performance of Classical Gas at one of the open mic segments.

We used to slow the record from 33rpm down to 16. This would drop the notes an octave. If it was still a little sharp we would put a stack of quarters on the needle. How many out there did that?

I learned it like Steve did, off the 45 rpm single till I wore the grooves off it.

Hi George
I learned it off the old vinyl record. Note by note.
