I've been working on a variety of music on all instruments, and several of the Celtic tunes mentioned will be in a gig I'll play at Mugsy's Hideout Restaurant in Murray on Sat. They are celebrating St. Patrick's Day that evening, so I get 2 hours of solo fun!
Don't know Popeye's Waltz, so I need to find that one!
Gus and I are planning to do Wizard's Walk by Jay Ungar on fiddles, so hope some of you can play the back-up! It's a great contest piece!
I did play When at Last at a Retirment Center show a week ago, and that went very well, although it was unaccompanied. That's my favorite guitar solo! I did get to play it with Russ Barenburg last summer at Kamp, so I'll always remember that.
Fiddle Tunes: I Don't Love Nobody, The Autumn Leaves, Back Home Again in Indiana, Dill Pickle Rag, Limerock, Draggin' the Bow, and some others. Anybody else play these?
Guitar Tunes: Cherokee Shuffle with words, Tyler Grant's Grey Eagle, Stone's Rag, Crazy Creek, KY Waltz and TN Waltz, Blackberry Blossom with words.
Usually during Spring Break week, I start deciding what to work hardest on. Right now, it's Celtic city on fiddle around here, ha ha.
Flatpciking I've been working on;
Interstate Rag (One I know is a big one for Mark Cosgrove whose recording of it are fantastic)
Flop Eared Mule
Nail That Catfish to a Tree
New Five Cent Piece
Dill Pickle Rag and Black and White Rag
Also Golden Eagle Hornpipe (slowly)
Old French
Yoder's Skipping Stones
Little Liza Jane
Over the Waterfall
Cold Frosty Morn
Staten Island Hornpipe
Shebeg Shemore?
