Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamps

Gold Award Acoustic Kamps

I'd like to hook up with some fiddle and old time banjo pickers for some old time pickin. I' ve mostly played in the bluegrass style of fiddle tunes (guitar and mando) and I'm really interested in getting into some old time with both guitar and mando.

So anybody who is gonna be playing some old time let me know! I'd love to give it a go. You can contact me through this page, or my e-mail fsusubdad@yahoo.com.

Thanks!

I'm week 1 and I love Old time style and would love to participate.
I'd be a Flatpicker (guitar) in that situation.
What do you play?

Let me know if something comes together.

Dale,

Cool. Now all we need is some fiddlers and banjo pickers! I am interested in playing some rhythm guitar , and maybe a little melody on my mando if I can pick it up quickly enough.

I"m sure we'll get the chance. Just gotta do a litte recruiting! See you in a few days,

Dan

Absolutely! I was referring to the slight modification in the format for an old-time jam vs. a bluegrass style fiddle tune jam. As I understand it, in old-time all the instruments play the melody at the same time. Usually dominated by fiddles and clawhammer banjo with guitars playing rhythm.

I was at an old-time jam in Blacksburg a couple months ago and that was the format - unlike the bluegrass fiddle tune jams where each player takes a turn at the lead and the rest play backup.

Anyway, I'm totally stoked for kamp! Kan't wait!!
