Steve Kaufman's Acoustic Kamps

Gold Award Acoustic Kamps

Around 2AM on Sunday morning (final day of week one), I blearily walked away from a jam session in the lobby of Carnegie Hall leaving behind my just purchased copy of the " Dobro Parking Lot Pickers" book (Stacey Phillips book - 200 Dobro Tunes with CD). It was on top of an end table that was up against the outside wall and my only excuse (other than total week one burnout) is that a just-arrived-for-week-two female mandolin player was sitting on that end table, either on top of or in front of it. Les Savage looked for it the following morning but reported no luck. Someone has it and I'm hopefull that a participent in that jam session knows of its whereabouts.

Thanks for any help/info anyone can provide.

Hi Lane. Sorry for the book. I am confident that if any kamper has it it will be returned to you. They are a great bunch of people.

You went to the festivals as planned? iheard david bromberg was in new hampshire on 7/18/2008. did you catch him. his wife's band (angel band) was in cafe' lena that same nite and i went to that. it was good but it was the first time that db did not play with the ab.
anyway it was great to have met you at kamp and look forward to seeing you next year.

Hi Cal, nice to hear from you.

No luck on the book yet...about to try digging deeper. I didn't get to either Gray Fox or Falcon Ridge...got totally clobbered, physically and mentally, by my move onto the West Newbury property and subsequent efforts to return to the normal world of running water, electricy, physical health and the like. If nothing else, it has been an an educational adventure. I'm looking at a couple festivals in August...kinda depends on a break in this relentless rainy summer. Gettin' tired of my instruments getting rained on.

How far are you from Cafe' Lena? Music went on hiatus during the height of the above but has returned to normal levels and then some. There's a new open mic in Bradford town Tuesdays that's turning into a pretty good thing, there's the Thursday open mic in Warren, NH and I may start going back to the Back Shed String Band Friday night Bluegrass Jam in Monroe, NH tonight.

Hope things are well with you,

Lane
